Hi everyone,
Just in between doing some reading and listening to a report on CNN about the current Cholera outbreak in Haiti, please say a prayer, light a candle, or share your thoughts if you want, just a bad situation for their country and for mankind.
Also, I am reminded of this wonderful song I heard performed by Elton John and Leon Russell the other day, the words and melody are quite soothing, enjoy, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJm7XoJtfI8
I currently do not watch or read the news because I have a son serving overseas. I am oblivious to alot of what is going on around the world-it's my way to protect myself and my other children from hearing about military losses. I will however keep the people of Haiti in my thoughts and prayers, they have certainly had enough to deal with this past year.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris and Debra. First I want to say Kris, God bless your son and I hope that he finds his way home safe. Regardless of my feelings on war, I know that our troops are risking their lives to protect mine and I have the utmost respect for them and their families. My brother and cousins have all served and it can be very hard on family. I hope your son is well and welcomed back home soon.
ReplyDeleteDebra, I am saying a prayer right now. Sometimes I go to church to light a candle as well. I was raised Catholic, but I am more spiritual than religious, however, there is something about Catholic churches that reminds me of my childhood and makes me feel calmer. I love to go there and light candles, listen to service, or even go to confession sometimes. It is good for the soul. I also love Elton John and find so many of his songs to be touching and beautiful.

I hope that the world will have the chance to see the inexpensive water filtration system that allows black water to be clean, living, drinkable water. I have seen one in real life and they are marketing it to several people already.
ReplyDeleteFor the first two weeks after my daughter was born, I was in a cocoon. I missed a lot of news and realized how much it means to me to stay connected to what is going on beyond my front door.
